PADI Discover Scuba Diving

DSDEver wanted to experience weightlessness, to float free under the ocean.  Well A PADI Discover Scuba Diving programme will give you your first taster of this.

What is it?

A PADI Discover Scuba Diving programme, is your first intorduction to the world of scuba diving, by allowing you to experience scuba diving in the controlled environment of the Scubafish pool.

What do you do?

During this program you will be introduced to the basic scuba unit, with your instructor explaining the function and control of each item.

The programme then proceeds to the pool where your instructor and Divemaster will help you into the water and into your scuba unit.

You´ll then practice breathing off a scuba regulator above and below the surface, once comfortable your instructor will take you on a nice swim around the pool.  taking you deeper only when you feel comfortable.

Also during a Discover Scuba Diving programme your instructor will give you the option of trying some of the skills found on the PADI Open Water Divers course (again only if you feel comfortable enough to do so).

How long does it last?

Typically the programme will last about 1hr 30 minutes with around 1hr of pool time, giving you a good feeling of what it would be like to be a scuba diver.

How much does it cost?

The cost of a PADI Discover Scuba Diving programme is £20, which includes all the equipment you may need.

What other requirements are there?

You have to be:

10 years or older.
Able to swim comfortably.
Complete the PADI medical form
Just a little bit adventurous.

What do I need to bring?

Generally a Swimming costume and a T-shirt will do, we provide wet suits for each participant.

When can I do it?

Scubafish run Discover Scuba Diving programmes on a Tuesday evening, so any time you´re ready.

What next after this?

As mentioned earlier you instructor may ask if you would like to try some skills.  If  you feel comfortable to do this, these skills can be credited toward the first confined water dive of a PADI Open Water Diver Course.

Also if you come back to Scubafish to complete a PADI Open Water Divr course, the you will receive a rebate on the cost of your Discover Scuba Diving programme.
